Alice and Eugeo
An Inexpensive, $120 SOM including a RK3576 and 16GB RAM
Alice is the primary system and the most complete version of the hardware so far, now moving toward manufacturing with sponsor support. It runs on the RK3576 with 16GB of RAM and is intentionally minimal, featuring essentials like an RTC, DisplayPort 1.4a, and additional USB ports, but still powerful enough to support projects like the Vector Gear's tracking needs. With the hardest part now complete, development can shift back toward improving the display and controller systems.
Eugeo is the more affordable and fully open-source option, priced at around $120 and designed with developers in mind. It includes UART and I2C connectors, dual MIPI CSI ports, a mic input, RTC support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and four USB ports, with an audio jack and possibly a second USB-C being added. Unlike Alice, the entire board will be open-sourced through OSHWLab, meaning anyone can modify, build, or even sell their own versions. It’s built to be flexible, accessible, and easy to experiment with—especially as part of a larger open ecosystem that could include everything from controllers to full XR hardware.
A third board, named Pontifex is in development as a 32GB RK3588 solution!
